A guided Forest Bathing experience along a pristine Catskills stream.

Join Ashokan Watershed Stream Management Program (AWSMP) for a deep sensory experience along the Rochester Hollow Stream, a Catskill Mountain tributary to the Upper Esopus Creek Watershed. Strenghten your connection with the natural world through slow, mindful walking, breath awareness, and quiet nature observation. The program will include a brief introduction to Forest Bathing, inspired by Shinrin Yoku, a traditional Japanese practice of making contact with and taking in the atmosphere of the forest.

Riparian Forest Bathing will be led by Jane Dobson, Nature and Forest Therapy Guide certified by the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT) and the Kripalu School of Mindful Outdoor Leadership.

Registration is required for this fascinating exploration of forest waterways, the health benefits of connecting with them, and the importance of deeping our connection to nature. Riparian Forest Bathing Sessions are 2.5 hours each, and we are offering two sessions on the same day:

Please only register for ONE session. Click on the red button above to register. This is a FREE offering from AWSMP to residents of the Ashokan Watershed. No credit card details will be requested.

This program is part of the 2024 Ashokan Watershed Conference, a series of nature-based experiences surrounding the theme Conservation Through Connection. Visit our website for the full schedule of events.

People interested in this event should check out another event later that same day, "Blue Spaces, Healing Spaces", a conference kick-off event at Phoenicia Playhouse in collaboration with the Morton Memorial Library in Pine Hill.
