Come snowshoe with us! 

The Winter Snowshoe Stream Walk with the Ashokan Watershed Stream Management Program (AWSMP) will take place at Kenneth Wilson State Park on February 8, 2025 from 10:00 am-12:30 pm. If there is not enough snow for snowshoeing on this date, then it will be a streamside walk along the same route. 

On this walk, participants will:

Space is limited to the first 15 residents of the Ashokan Watershed who register. Generally, the Ashokan Watershed overlaps the towns of Shandaken, Olive, Woodstock, and Hurley in Ulster County, and Lexington and Hunter in Greene County. 

Participants should wear appropriate clothing for cold weather, bring their own sun and bug protection, and wear proper footwear. Showshoes and walking poles will be provided, though participants are welcome to bring their own gear. Those with limited or no experience snowshoeing are encouraged to attend. Instruction on how to snowshoe properly and safely will be given before venturing out on the trail.

Ashokan Watershed Stream Management Programs are designed for residents and landowners of the Ashokan Watershed. If you are interested in participating despite meeting this criteria, please contact our event administrators. 

Please leave pets at home. 

Please arrive promptly so we may begin on time.

Cancellation Policy

We know that things come up unexpectedly, and cancelations happen. Please be respectful of others who would like to participate, and notify our team as soon as you determine you can no longer attend. Often our events have a waitlist and we work diligently to fill all spots to the best of our ability.

Age Restriction

Participants must be at least 7 years of age or older to attend, youth under 14 must be accompanied by a supervising adult at all times.
